A Time Traveler’s Guide to Canada’s Past is an original play written by Jannica Meyer and Natalka Duncan put on by volunteers in and around the St. John’s community.

Join Riley Matthews, a woman with a mission to go inhabit a new planet in space, as she is taken on a journey through time by Guardian Angels. These travelers visit key moments in Canada’s past in order to teach Riley about the individuals, groups, and cultures that Canada has exploited and oppressed. As they move through time, the Angels show our hero that despite the at-times shameful past, we must learn our country’s history in order to create a greater and brighter future.

The play will take place on June 28th at 7 p.m.., run time approximately 1 hour.

The play’s first showing will be on June 25th at 4 p.m.

It will be in the sanctuary of the church. Admission is free.

There will be a reception to follow the play, including coffee and tea, an art display, and an interactive exhibit about some of the topics we discuss in the play.
