St. John’s has a long history of excellent music in London under the direction of accomplished musicians. 

Our choir (currently 18 members and rising) adds leadership and beauty to our services with weekly anthems ranging from the works of Byrd, Bach and Mozart to Parry, Wood and Rutter.

Several of our choir members have considerable musical training while others are novices at choral singing. Under the expert leadership of Dr. Olena Bratishko, our talents are masterfully blended together.

Our exceptionally skilled organist, Dr. Yulia Draginda, provides valued support to our hymn singing and Preludes and Postludes that are truly inspiring.

At various times throughout the year our music is enhanced by a congregational band and orchestra (known as the St. John’s Marching Band), handbell choir and children’s choir. As well, professional musicians from the community are sometimes hired to enhance our worship and celebrations.

Surveys of the St. John’s congregation consistently express the overall opinion that music is one of the great strengths of our church life. 

ST JOHN'S CHOIR

St. John’s Choir provides inspiring musical leadership at our 10:30am Sunday services from September to June. The choir also sings at occasional special services and community events. Rehearsals are held on most Thursday evenings (8pm-9:30pm) from September to May. We sing a wide variety of interesting and challenging music and we are made up of members from all walks of life and levels of experience.

HANDBELL CHOIR

St. John’s Handbell Choir rings occasionally at church services and is open to anyone wishing to learn how to ring. An ability to read music is helpful but no previous ringing experience is required.

ST JOHN'S "MARCHING" BAND

Are you a brass, wind, or string player? Although our band doesn’t march very often anymore, we do perform at services and church functions three or four times a year! Smaller ensembles of players are made from the larger group of instrumentalists and play occasionally at Sunday services. Rehearsals are TBA close to the scheduled events. Music is accessible, suitable for a wide variety of players, and Distributed by email well in advance.
